Neighbors Helping Neighbors
We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3), organization. Neighbor Helping Neighbors was formed to accomplish just what the name implies. We’re here to help our neighbors. We first started with our free fruits and vegetable distribution for those in need of a little assistance, on the first and third Tuesday of every month. It has been a well-received program by the community, serving on average between 65-75 people weekly (which represents well over 200+ people) and we’ve had over 60+ people volunteer to help with this program.
Our annual Adopt-a-Family program has also joined NHN. For the past several years we have tried to make Christmas a little brighter for children and families in our community by providing food and presents to those that might have to go without. Contributions can be made to: NHN, P.O. Box 126, Aromas, CA 95004 ~ memo: adopt-a-family on your check or you may go to: www. Gofundme.com/btb7KWBG to make an online contribution.
We have also started a free monthly luncheon for seniors in our community. We meet at the Aromas Grange, the first Wednesday of every month, doors open at 11:30 and lunch is served at noon. We know the importance of renewing friendships and staying connected to one another.
In December, we provide gift bags for seniors and shut-ins in Aromas for the holidays. We also collect children’s jackets that we give away at our Fruits & Vegetable Distribution in January.
